Can I adjust my thermostat during Energy Savings Events?

You are always able to adjust the temperature on your thermostat during events. The process varies based on thermostat brand. 

If you change your thermostat more than three times during events, you may not be eligible for the participation reward at the end of the season. 

Google Nest:

Adjusting the temperature on your Nest during an event will opt you out for the remainder of the event. If you need to, you can adjust the temperature on your smart thermostat or within your thermostat app. You will first receive a message letting you know an event is occuring to confirm you do in fact want to opt out. If you choose to adjust your temperature again, you will be opted out of the event. 

ecobee:

Adjusting the temperature on your ecobee during an event will opt you out for the remainder of the event. If you need to, you can adjust the temperature on your smart thermostat or within your thermostat app. You will first receive a message letting you know an event is occuring to confirm you do in fact want to opt out. If you choose to adjust your temperature again, you will be opted out of the event. 

Sensi:

During an event we’ll continuously update your thermostat schedule to ensure you stay warm — so try not to touch that dial. If you do make adjustments, they’ll last up to two hours, then we’ll get you back on the event schedule.

 

Honeywell Home TCC:

Adjusting the temperature on your Honeywell Home TCC during an event will give you the option to opt out for the remainder of the event. If you need to, you can adjust the temperature on your smart thermostat or within your thermostat app. You will first receive a message letting you know an event is occurring and you will be given an option to confirm you do in fact want to opt out. If you confirm to be opted out, you will be opted out of the event.
