How do I know that I am eligible to participate?

In some cases, we are not always able to support the type of home or equipment you have. We currently can’t support your home if:

  • Your home doesn’t have a Wi-Fi enabled thermostat (supported models: ecobee Smart Thermostat with Voice Control, ecobee4, ecobee3, ecobee3 lite, Google Nest Thermostat E, Google Nest Learning Thermostat, Sensi Classic, Sensi Touch)
  • You are not a Consumers Energy residential electric or combo (electric and natural gas) customer
  • You are currently enrolled in a Consumers Energy program that makes you ineligible
  • Your home does not have an always-on Wi-Fi network
  • Your home does not have central air conditioning connected to your smart thermostat(s)
  • You are currently enrolled in one of the following Consumers Energy programs that disqualifies you from participating in the Smart Thermostat Program: 

                 - Dynamic Peak Pricing Programs, such as Peak Time Savings and Critical Peak Pricing
                 - A/C Peak Cycling
                 - Demand Response Generator
                 - Renewable or Electric Vehicle Programs
                 - Net Metering
                 - Pay My Way
                 - Smart Meter Opt out
