The Smart Thermostat Program is committed to protecting customer privacy. The Program’s industry-leading platform is specifically designed for data security. The platform is built on a custom cloud architecture complete with advanced features for ensuring data privacy and integrity. The Smart Thermostat Program also employs security industry best practices such as authentication and encryption protocols.

During the registration process, you will be asked to authorize the Smart Thermostat Program to access your thermostat data. Please review this request to ensure you are comfortable sharing this information.

For communication with your smart thermostat, the Smart Thermostat Program adheres to ecobee’s, Copeland's, and Nest’s security requirements. Note the Smart Thermostat Program does not connect directly to your smart thermostat and all thermostat data received is controlled by each thermostat provider’s robust and secure application Program interfaces (APIs).
